What Is A Real Estate Agent?
Real estate agents are licensed pros who mange and set up real estate transactions. By putting buyers and sellers together and acting as their representatives in negotiations. Real estate agents typically make money by by a commission—a percentage (typically 6% total- 3% to buyer's agent and 3% to seller's agent) of the property's sale price. Agent's income depends on their ability to help their client's reach their goals. 

In almost every U.S state, a real estate agent neesd to be affiliated with a real estate broker (an individual or a brokerage firm). Broker's hold their license.

What Does A Real Estate Agent Do?
A real estate agent, as defined by Cambridge Dictionary, is a person whose business is to arrange the selling or renting (learn more about renting here) of houses, land, offices, or buildings for their owners. 

While that is a technically accurate definition of a real estate agent, it doesn’t give an complete overview of what a real estate agent does day in and day out.

No two days are alike for Amber Cyman! Some days we are helping find a real estate investor their next property to flip. The next day we are helping a couple sell their lakefront home for retirement. 

A good real estate agent:

Is there a difference between a realtor and a real estate agent?

What exactly is the difference between a realtor and a real estate agent? 
Real estate agent and realtor are terms that often get used interchangeably. However, there are differences. While both are state licensed pros that assit clients with buying and selling a house or property, realtors are members in good standing with the National Association of Realtors, which gives realtors a  code of ethics to adhere to.

As members, realtors must pay membership fees due every 12 months. As well as follow the Association's code of ethics.
